Elliott Smith is one of the more prolific and under appreciated songwriters of the last decade. With the recent release of his final recording fans are getting a taste of his best album. His unexpected suicide left the final production of the album to family and friends, and it truly is a great final farewell. If you haven’t purchased “From a Basement on a Hill” yet I recommend doing so as soon as possible. This album should be on most critics “best of” lists.
