I discovered Unpersons by accident when I bought what I thought was a Baroness album titled “Unpersons.” It turns out that it was a split album between the two bands, and an awesome mistake on my part. Unpersons reminds me a little bit of early Nirvana or The Jesus Lizard mixed with elements of hardcore and death metal. It’s heavy, it’s loud and it’s surprisingly catchy. I almost did a sketch for “Numbers,” but at the last minute I switched to “Dry Hand.” The image of a saw blade lady won me over.
